Arrive into Cochin Welcome to your 'Kerala Backwater Tour' On arrival in Cochin, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight: Hotel Day 02: Cochin-Periyar This morning after breakfast at the hotel, drive to Periyar which lies in the shade of Cardamom Hills and is a beautiful area of tranquil winding. Check-in at Hotel. Late afternoon enjoy a boat safari in Lake Periyar in the National Park, known for herds of wild elephant, bison, deer and spectacular bird life. Overnight: Hotel Day 03: Periyar You may wish to venture again, early morning to the national Park since it is the best time for sightseeings. After breakfast, visit to the Spice plantations or do a soft trek with escort in the jungle. Boat cruise on the lake of the famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Periyar-an ariticial lake or reservoir created by a dam on Periyar River is in the heart of the Wildlife sanctuary. Wild Elephants, Asiatic Deer, Black Buck and even tigers come to shores of the lake to drink. Return to hotel for breakfast. Thereafter drive through the winding "Ghats" kind with prosperous tea plantations & then arrive the fascinating countryside of low-lying palms and paddy field to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is a beautiful backwater willage on the shores of the enchanting Vembanad Lake, crises crossed with meandering waterways and ancient cottages. Overnight: Hotel Day 04: Periyar-Kumarakom This morning after breakfast, drive to Kumarakom on the banks of Lake Vembanad enroute visit various plantation and tea factory . Evening sunset cruise . Overnight: Hotel Day 05: Kumarakom Day at leisure To see an extra ordinary way of life . Overnight: Hotel Day 06 : Kumarakom - House Boat Morning after breakfast check out from hotel and check in at the house boat for the direction to Alleppey enroute sightseeing on the bank of the backwaters Overnight: Houseboat Day 07 : House Boat Morning ride in the direction of Alleppey enroute explore the rural life of Kerala .The backwater cruise in a country boat is the best way to explore the villages and rural life. Overnight : Houseboat Day 08 : House Boat - Alleppey - Cochin Morning after breakfast disembark from House boat and drive to Cochin . Afternoon free Evening watch the Kathakali dance performance . Overnight: Hotel Day 09: Cochin Visit Cochin Visit of the historic city of Fort Cochin - ancient capital of the Dutch, Portuguese and finally the British. A walking tour of Fort Cochin. Visit will include the old Spice Market at Mattancherry, the antique shop on Jews street, The Synagogue, Dutch Palace and the Church of St Francis where the mortal remains of Vasco Da Gama was buried before it was shifted to Portugal. Rest of the day at leisure . Overnight: Hotel Day 10 : Leave Cochin This morning after the breakfast, you will be transfered to Airport/Railway station to board the flight/Train for your onward journey to back home with sweet and unforgettable memories of 'Kerala Back Waters' escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
